50+ Adult Tai Chi with UK Tai Chi in York, Leeds and surrounding area
Sharron Hollows was thrilled when she won an award from City of York Council Adult Education in the Health and Wellbeing category in June, the presentations taking place in Kings Manor, York.
Sharron (centre of picture) was nominated because of her caring attitude and the fact the she ‘always gives to others’. Sharron supports her care, Liz in my Tai Chi class in Fulford, York. Liz had some balance and confidence issues but since Sharron started taking her along to the Tai Chi class, Liz now stands without the aid of a walker, her posture is much better and her confidence and communication skills have also improved. She exercises and has fun with other able bodied students in the class and shows excellent progress. We are all very proud of them both.
Liz and Sharron attend the EnGage 50+ group of Tai Chi enthusiasts who come together on Mondays to practice in St Oswald's Church Hall in Fulford, York
This, is a regular Tai Chi class taught by Betty Sutherland of UK Tai Chi (left of picture). Betty is a UK and European medal holder with several years experience in teaching students of various ages and abilities.
Tai Chi is now very popular across the UK. In her class, Betty will teach you how to perform a sequence of exercises and techniques proven to improve physical health, mental wellbeing and enhance brain function.
Betty said “ It’s amazing how people quickly see the benefits for both body and mind from this ancient form of Chinese Martial Art and the Health boosting exercises in Qigong. Students can improve flexibility, balance and stamina and it's a great way to exercise, relax and socialise.
A lovely way to start the week 'The Chinese Way'.
St Oswald’s Church Hall is an ideal tranquil venue and we welcome folk to come along to give it a try”
